The <\/span>Rally del Salento<\/b>was born as a prestigious motorsport event, establishing itself over the years as one of the most fascinating competitions in the Italian rally scene. Since the first editions, it has been able to stand out for its technicality and for the charm of the route, which winds through the <\/span>breathtaking views of Salento<\/b>. The rally has immediately been a fundamental stage for Italian motorsport, welcoming high-caliber drivers and establishing itself as a key event in the national calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n

The most significant historical moments<\/b><\/h2>\n

From a sporting point of view, the <\/span>Rally del Salento<\/b> boasts a history rich in great protagonists of world rallying. Among these stands out the young Finn <\/span>Kalle Rovanpera<\/b>, 2022-2023 World Rally Champion on Toyota, who in 2017 won the “Conca” special stage, becoming the youngest driver to win a special stage in the history of the race. In 2010, the one to climb onto the top step of the podium was the Czech <\/span>Jan Kopecky<\/b>, world champion driver in the Rally2 category with Skoda. The<\/span>eleven-time Italian champion Paolo Andreucci<\/b> holds the record for victories in Lecce, with four successes, while <\/span>Piero Liatti<\/b>, in 1987, was the youngest winner of the entire competition. The record for special tests won in a single edition belongs to <\/span>Renato Travaglia<\/b>, who in 2002 triumphed in 18 of the 19 tests held.<\/span><\/p>\n

The last edition, that of <\/span>2024<\/b>, saw the triumph of Brescia’s <\/span>Luca Pedersoli<\/b>, navigated by <\/span>Corrado Bonato<\/b>, aboard a Citro\u00ebn DS3. Also competing for victory until the last kilometre were the Molisan Giuseppe Testa, flanked by Gino Abatecola, and the Friulian Luca Rossetti, paired with Nicol\u00f2 Gonella, both on Skoda Fabia.<\/p>\n
