Between the various intermediate stops and the summer traffic, getting around Salento by bus, for example, can be uncomfortable, but not impossible. Lido Marini: how to get there by train
To get to Lido Marini by train, you have to reach Lecce railway station and from there take another train in the direction of Presicce-Acquarica and in about two hours you will arrive in Presicce. From Presicce, then take an S.T.P. bus that will take you to Lido Marini in about 10 to 15 minutes. We always recommend contacting the bus company by phone to be sure about routes and times. Lido Marini: how to get there by bus
Getting to Lido Marini by bus is the quickest and easiest solution. From Lecce, take the “Salento In Bus” bus, a line operating only in summer, for the route “Lecce – Gallipoli – S.M. di Leuca” (it should be number 108) and in a couple of hours you will arrive at your destination. I advise you to check updated routes and timetables on the Lecce Province website.
Lido Marini: how to get there by plane
The nearest airport to Lido Marini is Brindisi (BDS). From here you can reach Lecce, by train or airport shuttles, and then take the means of transport that is most convenient for you, either the Salento in Bus bus, or the train; or you can hire a car to reach Lido Marini directly from the airport.
Lido Marini in Apulia
Lido Marini in Apulia is a long stretch of golden sand sloping down into the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea. In summer, despite its small size, it welcomes many tourists and visitors, who like to relax in this less touristy area. As a matter of fact, although it is very busy, it is quieter and more reserved than other places in Salento, such as the nearby Torre San Giovanni. What is the sea like in Lido Marini?
The sea in Lido Marini (as well as in other parts of Salento) is a real dream.
A beach of fine sand, about 2 km long, covers the shallow waters even several metres from the shore, and this is one of the main characteristics of the Lido Marini beach, suitable and perfect for those on holiday in Salento with children. To find the sea calm, it is ideal to come here with the tramontana, while we recommend avoiding it with the sirocco as it could be very rough. Another peculiarity is the presence of underground springs, which flow into the sea creating different currents of cold and warm water.

As we were saying, Lido Marini beach is a long strip of fine golden sand with shallow waters. For this reason, Lido marini is also known for the “shallows of Ugento”, i.e. a large underwater plateau, which extends up to 3-4 km from the shoreline and can reach a depth of 5-6 metres. This is obviously a great danger for boats that risk shipwreck, so great care must be taken.
Apart from this, the beach is characterised by dunes, Mediterranean scrub and shallow rocks that are very appreciated by diving enthusiasts and spearfishermen.
The beach alternates between free areas and areas equipped with numerous beach resorts for those who prefer to relax.
