The area is home to aholm oak forest of approximately 18 hectares, flanked by awetland area of approximately 90 hectares and by two coastal basins, Idume and Fetida, which extend over a total of 4 hectares. These basins were created together with three main channels – Rauccio, Gelsi and Fetida – to facilitate land reclamation and collect spring water. The rest of the territory is characterized by strips of Mediterranean scrub, garrigue, fields cultivated with vegetables and trees, as well as vast uncultivated areas, used mainly for grazing. The coast, about 4 km long, is mainly sandy and dotted with dunes of great naturalistic interest, and includes the territories of Torre Rinalda, Spiaggiabella and Torre Chianca.
